Evangeline Porter, one of ABN's newest members of staff, is not unfamiliar to helping a community grow from the beginning. In December 2014, she created Virtual Reality Racing, a PlayStation based community that has run for years on Gran Turismo. Under her leadership, VRR grew rapidly during the PS4-era, and helped the community blossom into a 200+ member group.
On track, Porter is a five time Super GT Driver's Champion, having won four times in the GT500 Class, and once in GT300. As a long time open wheel fan, Porter has also finished on the podium in races at Long Beach, Daytona, Indianapolis, and Fontana.
As ABN's Director of Competition, Porter will oversee the creation and implementation of rules and regulations for ABN's in-house competitions, such as Hyper Formula, and Super Sprint championships. She will also serve as the senior steward for post race incident reviews across all ABN-sanctioned events.
- Porter holds dual nationality, having been born in Izola, Slovenia to an American father and Slovenian mother. Porter has raced most of her iRacing career under the Slovenian flag.
- Porter is the all time leading driver in VRR in terms of race starts, and holds 24 wins to her resume in the community.
- Porter's community building approach on PlayStation attracted the likes of Xbox's TORA, and British GT in the early phases of Gran Turismo Sport before Porter turned to focus more on VRR's activities, attracting FIA level talent to participate.
The fifth season of ABN's Open Wheel World Championship ends on May 14th, but there's still time to join in on our flagship series. Come see why ABN Champ Car is producing full race grids every week!
